The Bell System 6925 USB 0218 UTC 11 DEC 2025
« on: December 11, 2025, 0219 UTC »
Listening to the Bell System brings to mind Ruth Buzzi as the telephone operator with "One Ringy Dingy..." on Roman & Martin's Laugh In program.

0218 Telephone operators handling calls.
0221 Operator "What number are you dialing?"
0222 "Try your call again". "What number did you dial?"
0224 "May I Help you?"
0225 "This is a recording". 'I can make it a long distance call." "What number did you dial please?"
0226 "What number were you dialing?"
0227 "Please hold the line, an operator will assist".
0235 "Operator, Hello?"
0237 ID 2x by OM and more telephone ops doing their thing.
0238 WWV time ticks heard in the background.
0246 "Stay on the line, an operator will assist you".
0247 OTA.

Thanks for today's broadcast! ) ) ) ) )

0212 Just the Way You Are
0214 YL reading an article, and warned of adult language
0216 off air
0218 The Bell System started up! Operators, ringings, dial beeps, lots of hellos
0225 This is a recording in Tallahassee Florida
0231 OM please remain on the line and an operator will assist you
0234 YL your call cannot go through. Please hang up and try again
0237 OM ID "You have been listening to the Bell System"
0241 "National Bureau of Standards WWV" - I think, because the SDR cut out right then
0244 YL call the repair service for assistance
0245 YL your call could not go through - please hang up and try again
0246 you can find every business in town in the yellow pages
0248 now is a good time to brighten your home, and then off air

Quite difficult to distinguish phrases, but if this program were played at a concert of aleatoric music by John Cage, it would fit right in!  I love it!
Please EQSL to jaroberts1914@gmail.com
