https://www.radioworld.com/news-and-business/headlines/corporation-for-public-broadcasting-votes-to-dissolve    Oh, cry me a river... Ya know, it might be an interesting to research as to what had gotten the ball rolling for congress, in 1967, feeling the need to bring CPB into being in the first place. This was during the LBJ Administration. Hmmmmmmmmmm??? One observation that I've made over the years, between PBS & NPR stations, and their commercial counterparts, is that employees of NPR & PBS seemed well paid, and always seemed to work on the latest & newest studio & broadcasting gear, while many commercial stations were barely hanging-on with ancient equipment and had lots of staff making only minimum-wage. Uh-huh...
“I am often asked how radio works. Well, you see, wire telegraphy
is like a very long cat. You yank his tail in New York and he
meows in Los Angeles. Do you understand this? Now, radio is
exactly the same, except that there is no cat.”
-Attributed to Albert Einstein, but I ripped it from the latest Splatter .PDF March 2025 issue.
