1319 "Gloomy Sunday" by Artie Shaw.

Gloomy Sunday was turned into a remarkable film in 1999.  The soundtrack includes many versions of the song (plus some others) including one by Marianne Faithfull.  Numerous people have recorded this melancholy tune including Ray Charles, Sarah Vaungh, Mel Torme, Elvis Costello, Herbie Mann, Ricky Nelson, The Smithereens, Bjork, Sarah McLachlan, Sinead O'Connor, Lou Rawls, and Billie Holiday to name a few.  I'd love to see the Princess of Pensiveness (Lana Del Rey) give it a whirl.  ;D
