QSL to [email protected] would be greatly appreciated!
SDRplay RSP2/RSPdx  w/SDRuno or SDRconnect SW ; N-S 43M Dipole /  Disclaimer: Shazam/Sound-Hound used to ID many songs.

Well, it's come to this: It's midnight and I'm listening to a heavy metal cover version of "The Wheels On The Bus Go Round and Round" on pirate short wave radio on Sternradio. Is life great, or what!?

All reports given are direct from my station in NYC.
Main toys are a Flex SDR, Icom 756 Pro II and other assorted odds & ends. They may be older, but work very well for me.

0058:  Heard the piano freq marker.  (very professional)
0100:  ID'd as Ball Smacker Radio.  S9 with light-to-moderate QRN on the Shrewsbury VT KiwiSDR.  Got some CW chattering in the background.
0106:  The CW is coming from 6963 KHz.  Too fast for me to copy and my CW decoder can't get a fix on it.

Listening From W3eHFU Westminster MD's 900FT Skyloop KiwiSDR
Signal is very strong but has some deep fades, 8 to 9 out of 10. There is CW QRM on 6963, but shortening the leg on the bandwidth on that side mutes it nicely

0057 [Signal On]
0058 [Wildfire Interval Signal]
0100 [Ballsmacker Radio Opening Announcement]
0100 1980-081 - Little River Band - Cool Change
0104 1976-036 - Gordon Lightfoot - The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald
0111 1978-067 - Styx - Come Sail Away
0117 [Check Out Our Website -Liner]
0117 1974-NCS - Grateful Dead - Ship Of Fools
0122 1982-114 - Crosby, Stills & Nash - Southern Cross
at this time, I noticed the CW had changed frequency to 6961.5 kHz,
0127 1977-NCS Heart - Dreamboat Annie (Reprise) [might be 1975]
0131 [Special Theme - Liner]
Now the CW has moved back to 6963 kHz
0131 Crosby, Stills & Nash - Wooden Ships
0136 1975-351 - Rod Stewart - Sailing
0141 1986-128 - Double - The Captain of Her Heart
0145 [Wires In The Trees -Liner]
0145 1979-071 - Barry Manilow - Ships
0149 1988-343 - Robert Plant - Ship Of Fools
Now the CW is back on 6961.5 kHz
0154 1979-038 - Commodores - Sail On
0157 [Station ID]
0157 1979-033 - Village People - In The Navy
CW is on 6963 again

0219 1966-215 - Dionne Warwick - Trains and Boats and Planes
0219 1993-087 - Toad The Wet Sprocket - Walk On The Ocean
0219 [Nothing But The Hits -Liner]
0219 Looking Glass - Brandy (You're A Fine Girl)
[I think my computer's clock has frozen!]
1974-032 - Hues Corporation - Rock the Boat
1968-006 - Otis Redding - (Sittin' On) The Dock Of The Bay
[Playing the greatest Hits of all time -liner]
1987-184 - World Party - Ship Of Fools (Save Me From Tomorrow)
1975-303 - The Beach Boys - Sail On Sailor
1957-051 - Harry Belafonte - Banana Boat (Day-O)
[Bowling Ball - SFX]
[SSTV]
[Closing Message]
[Wildfire Interval Signal]
[program end]
[Transmission Ended]

This is strange, I know it's nearly 0300 and yet my computer's clock still says 0219. I guess I'm overdriving my laptop, it's a Gen 11 i-7 with 32gb RAM, but I have it driving 3 external monitors and who knows how many programs are open. I'll do a reset and it should be fine, very odd though.

Another note, there seems to be another station in japanese on 6960 LSB now that Ballsmacker radio has signed off. Sounds like they are playing 80's J-POP

Please eQSL at [email protected] and as always thank you for the show.
All chart rankings are from the "Billboard POP-ME (1890-2026)" 20260228 edition from the "Whitburn Project" and are unofficial, but very darn close

0108 Big signal into Long Island at S9+30, crushing that crappy CW on 6963. The CW is sent so poorly it is difficult to copy. Gordon Lightfoot "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald"
Unless noted otherwise, all reports are direct from my location on Long Island NY.

Drake R8, Kenwood R-2000, Panasonic RF-4900, Sony 2010, Realistic DX440, Grundig Satellit 500, CB antenna, Mt Prospect, IL 20miles (32km) NW of downtown Chicago. I have been using online receivers because my 7mhz dipole came down in a storm and after my stroke on 3 June 2024 I can no longer get up on a ladder to fix it. Also too much neighborhood noise.
