Well, it's come to this: It's midnight and I'm listening to a heavy metal cover version of "The Wheels On The Bus Go Round and Round" on pirate short wave radio on Sternradio. Is life great, or what!?

All reports given are direct from my station in NYC.
Main toys are a Flex SDR, Icom 756 Pro II and other assorted odds & ends. They may be older, but work very well for me.

Listening via the SDR in Shrewsbury, Vermont, which is receiving an S7 to S9 signal and fair to good audio through this evening's noise ...

0013 UTC: Music; can't tell if it's distorted on purpose or if the modulation is off.
0018 UTC: Shazam's identifying this music as "Jupiter and Beyond" by Francis Travis & Ernest Bour.
0018 UTC: Man on mic said something about the 43-meter band and gave email address of [email protected], then back to the modern classical music.
0022 UTC: Man on mic: "This is the Swift Observatory broadcasting from low-Earth orbit." Said he needs rescue ASAP, followed by the song "Klingon Battle" by Jerry Goldsmith.
0025 UTC: SSTV message: "NASA PREPARING TO SAVE TELESCOPE FROM FALLING TO EARTH." Also mentioned "Swift" and included an image.
0027 UTC: Off.

Thanks for the broadcast tonight!
