Well, it's come to this: It's midnight and I'm listening to a heavy metal cover version of "The Wheels On The Bus Go Round and Round" on pirate short wave radio on Sternradio. Is life great, or what!?

Listening via the SDR in Shrewsbury, Vermont ...

0012 UTC: Music, but just barely audible. Seems to be gaining in strength, however.
0013 UTC: "Something About You" by Level 42.
0014 UTC: "Let Me Go" by Heaven 17. The music's fading in slowly, but there's still lots of noise and static crashes.

Under the noise here in Northeast NJ. Heard "Something About You" by Level 42, but now it has dropped below the noise at 00:15

Using an IC-R75 and PAR EF SWL

Edit: 00:38 hearing "It's My Life" by Talk Talk

I have a solid S-7 noise level here in this urban paradise.

00:57 "Shout"  Tears for Fears

01:08 - signal greatly improved here.

I have been using online receivers because my 7mhz dipole came down in a storm and after my stroke on 3 June 2024 I can no longer get up on a ladder to fix it. Also too much neighborhood noise. Yes, fairly noisy here, and a fadey signal in western New York, SINPO 34122, now 44233

0059z  Music
0101z  electronic efx, then "Dead Souls" by Joy Division
0107z  Un-Shazamable music
0124z  Stern Radio ID, "broadcasting from the icy shores of East Antarctica", also in German.
0131z  Finally, Shazam gets a hit with "Pepper" by Vibel8
0146z  Still playing music that SHazam can't seem to ID

Drake Drake R8B with 700 ft long wire aimed west
