Radio Free Euphonia 6950 AM 2318 UTC 15 SEP 2026
« on: September 15, 2026, 2318 UTC »
2318: music "Time" - Tom Waits ("TW")
35222, noise and fast fading w/fade distortion (for now, will probably improve a good bit in about 30 minutes w/dusk)
2320: YL: "[something] 6950 AM"; "Jockey Full of Bourbon" - TW
2323: "Closing Time" - TW
2327: ID, "Underground" - TW
2335: YL w/ID "on international shortwave"
- easier listening on AM than SAM
2336: "Take The Long Way Home" - Supertramp
2340: "Bloody Well Right" - Supertramp
:
2351: ID by YL, "Children of the Sun" - Billy Thorpe
- now better on SAM than AM, noise and fading have settled down

Thanks for the show!

QSL to [email protected] would be greatly appreciated!
SDRplay RSP2/RSPdx  w/SDRuno or SDRconnect SW ; N-S 43M Dipole /  Disclaimer: Shazam/Sound-Hound used to ID many songs.

Well, it's come to this: It's midnight and I'm listening to a heavy metal cover version of "The Wheels On The Bus Go Round and Round" on pirate short wave radio on Sternradio. Is life great, or what!?

Listening via the SDR in Traverse City, Michigan, which is receiving an S9+ signal with good audio overall despite some noise and fading at times ...

2322 UTC: "Jockey Full of Bourbon" by Tom Waits.
2323 UTC: "Closing Time" by Tom Waits.
2327 UTC: Male host: "Now wasn't that nice, here on Radio Free Euphonia." That was followed by "Underground" by Tom Waits.
2329 UTC: "Step Right Up" by Tom Waits.
2335 UTC: Female-voiced ID, then the host talked about Tom Waits some more.

Thanks for the music this evening!

2321-SINFO 45344 (lightning static making a bit hard. Strongest on west Beverage.)
Tom Waite
(Ok,....this is pretty cool, right here!! Bahahaha,...."Change it to a nine year old Hindu boy".....I'm dying!!)
2336 - Take the Long Way Home - (Supertramp) (Reminds me of the summer of '79, driving around in my junky old 68 'cuda.)
2341 - ROIGHT!!!! (Your TX audio characteristics is making Davies's Wurlitzer 200A really stand out!!)
2352 - Children of the Sun - (Matt's beer balls behind our farm,....draining the battery with the doors open and stereo cranking.)
2358 - Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald (Lightfoot)
(I remember listening to W8's and W9's talk about this and trying to help that night in '75. Bernie Cooper of the SS Arthur M. Anderson was a ham, and had a small station on the vessel. I remember him telling another ham that the CG had asked him to turn around and head back out in the storm. (He actually did it.)
0005 -Baker Street (Rafferty)
