I wasn't quite sure where to post this reception log, flipped a coin and choose here.

Nearly a month ago I was scanning around just below 7Mhz looking for interesting signals when I happened upon three unusual beacons.

One was on 06975.00 kHz, another on 06976.00 kHz, and another on 06976.80 kHz

The format of all three was similar with the format on the 06976.80 kHz being a wee bit different.

All heard initially using the online SDR in Enschede (NL) JO32kf at the Univerisity of Twente

06975.00 UNID: SINPO 24442 XXX XXX SM 32111 R 69191 K long dash, A1A (25AUG2026 2010) (GC-JO32kf)

06976.00 UNID: SINPO 24442 XXX XXX SM 11211 R 33111 k long dash, A1A (25AUG2026 2012) (GC-JO32kf)

06976.90 UNID: SINPO 24442 XXX XXX MSK 090545 R 240222 K long dash, A1A (26AUG2026 2002) (GC-JO32kf)

(note the use of 6 figure groups in the last one vs the 5 figure groups in the first two and MSK vs SM)

Each starts with XXX which is commonly used by RU military to indicate a flash message.

Each transmission lasts approximately 40 seconds, then a one minute pause, then repeats.

I last heard the beacon/marker 06976.00 kHz on 2026-08-31.

I last heard the becaon/marker 06975.00 kHz on 2026-09-07.

The beacon/marker on 06976.80 kHz continues as of 2026-09-23 15:00utc

Whether the beacons/markers on 06975.00 and 06976.00 are really off the air or are simply absent due to atmospherics is uncertain. Comparing signal strengths on various onlines SDRs around Europe suggested that the three where eminating from different locations but that is only a WAG ( wild a$$ guess )

Monitoring on various online SDR around Europe and noting time of day and signal strength, this transmission seems to be eminating from some location more North than South and more East than West.

I have also been searching above and below 7Mhz for similar transmissons but so far have found none similar.

I have up to this point been posting my loggings and comments on the UDXF group on groups.io and yesterday a gentleman noted that MSK may mean Moscow standard time or refer to Moscow and that 240222 in DDMMYY format is the day of Russia's latest invasion of Ukraine and further discussion noted that 090545 also in DDMMYY format is day celebrated in Eastern Europe as VE day.

These beacons or markers are starting to look more political or pirate related than overtly military in nature.

Interesting and curious. Monitoring continues.

cheers, Graham
