https://part15.org/community/transmitter-talk/remember-radio-collinsville/#post-63958     Boomer FWR this to me, and Tybee wrote and posted that from the preceding link. COOL!!!! Even I thought about taking Part 15 AM on the road. Granted, from 2008, but shows what could be possible. Iīll bet this dude might have gotten out better, being parked on the shoreline. Even though he put down GND Radials, his truck was probably big enough to serve that purpose without them. (Just my take there.) So, got PICīs of his flier, transmitter, center loaded antenna, and what he used to program with, at the time. Anyway, THANK YOU Boomer & Tybee!!!!
The best two statements of advice that I've ever gotten are from my brother-in-law in the early 1990's. 1st one, when I bought a used '89 Olds Cutless, my bro-in-law said, "Congratulations!!! You've just bought a deficit!". The other, was on a work environment, " No matter where you go, it's going to be f***'ed -up!". No truer words have been spoken.

The story had got picked up by AP or UPI or something and it circulated throughout numerous US newspapers including Alaska and Hawaii during 2007. I don't know what ever became of it but apparently he discontinued the station sometime prior 2018.

I thought his ground system shown was interesting the way he set it up on top the asphalt parking lot and all, but it seems to me it would have been a more effective (maybe) to have simply parked the truck at the very edge of the parking lot so he could just drive a ground rod into the soil. The transmitter was home built, or so it appears. Anyway it's a cool story, I vaguely recall it being discussed about 20 years ago. There was also another about a guy broadcasting from a decommissioned railroad car - or caboose around that same time.. seemed to have lost the specifics somewhere down the line, have to try and drag that one out again..

!! Even I thought about taking Part 15 AM on the road.

I actually contact one of those couples that post videos about their "tiny house" travels and suggested they install a part 15 transmitter to broadcast in their destinations, but never heard anything back from them. Also contacted some of those historic stationary "tiny church" tourist spots suggesting they use one to locally broadcast it's history and hours of operation or whatever (some of them offer weddings in them, they're only like 10ft x 10ft in size, more of a novelty than anything but many go back a hundred years or so) - never got a response from them either.
