Received locally (Richmond VA) using four different handheld receivers:

RadioShack / Realistic TRC-223 [RS Cat. No. 21-1552] 3 channel 3 watt handheld CB radio - crystal controlled walkie talkie
PNI Escort HP 82 PNI HP-82 handheld AM/FM dual mode CB radio walkie talkie (using the HA-TA antenna)
RadioShack Pro-135 scanner/receiver (with Cobra HA-TA telescopic 25-30 MHz antenna)
RadioShack Pro-96 scanner/receiver (using the same type of antenna as the '135)

The TRC-223 uses the original massive center-loaded telescopic whip antenna.  That radio is currently crystal set for

27.125 MHz - Channel "A" - CB Radio Channel 14
27.255 MHz - Channel "B" - CB Radio Channel 23
26.995 MHz - Channel "C" - RCRS data only channel ("Channel 3A")

Very good receiver performance on these old CB walkie talkies, that massive antenna being a big part of it.

YL dispatcher on CB channel 23 AM mode, frequency 27255kHz AM 27.255MHz AM CB CH23.  RCRS data bursts and Spanish speaking taxi dispatcher coming in on 27.255 MHz quite nicely.  Good AM signal, some minor QSB, would give it a SIO 333 at tune in, all four receivers more or less hearing her (the dispatcher) the same.
