NORTHWOODS RADIO 6935 USB 1142 UTC JUNE 21, 2014
« on: June 21, 2014, 1229 UTC »
Fair signal here at 1220 UTC with fiddle music, chat by man announcer at 1221 UTC. "This is Northwoods Radio" ID at 1223 UTC then music.
1229 UTC Man announcer chatting about music, then cry of the loon.
1231 UTC Lady announcer with ID..."Broadcasting freedom from the Great Lakes"
1234 UTC Man announcer chat followed by a musical compostion on a Violin
(Surprised to hear you this morning! Signal is above the noise floor, particularly the music...speech is partial copy though, with the daylight absorption here in Western MA)
1245 UTC The Violin compostion starting at 1234 UTC still going strong with other instruments added...sounds like something I would hear on All India Radio!
1250 UTC Man announcer with email... northwoodsradio@gmail.com followed by brief CW, into SSTV. I wish I could decode the SSTV!
1255 UTC Seems like one SSTV ended and then another started! If someone did an SDR recording on this, could you please post the scans?
1300 UTC OFF
(Thank you Mr. Jackpine Savage and lady friend! A pleasure to hear you on this beautiful Saturday morning!) :)

SINPO: 23222

Only caught the tail end of this transmission
Never heard an ID :(
Almost buried in the static

1247 - Violin, oboe music with an almost mid-eastern flair.
1250 - A possible CW ID ?
1250 - SSTV #1
1254 - SSTV #2 (this one sounded stronger)
1259 - Presumed S/Off - QRT

Thanks for the show. Hope to hear you again when condx are better.

Racked in late and got downstairs to tune in the last half of the 2nd SSTV, but couldn't get it to capture in my coffee-less stupor.

About an S8 here IIRC.
