I'm assuming it's just using an amateur radio transceiver. It was playing "The Purple People Eater" and died again.

Caught the exact same thing jFarley at about a S5 with some fading and also now hearing Purple People Eater.

Something came up at 0100 UTC but just too weak to make out above the noise. Suddenly at 0107 UTC the "Purple People Eater" song was coming in strong, then off at 0009ish UTC. Hmmm :o
