I was 8 years old at the time and was most fortunate to have seen the original broadcast. The Outer Limits was a regular at our house, of course, in black and white TV. Yes, a few of the episodes gave me some bad dreams, but I grew out of that. Many of the episodes are still fresh in my mind, particularly the Zanti Misfits. That one was really cool! What I didn't catch the first time I read the Wikipedia article was the name of the engineer...Alan Maxwell. 8)

Yes, that's why I posted this. I was watching this show late one night, and decided to look up the episode on Wikipedia, mainly to figure out how the special effects were done. I saw the name of the character, and suddenly it all fell together.

So now we know; KIPM was an alien plot. I used to wonder why many of my friends died of "radiation". Now it's no longer a mystery.
