7/22/15, 6955 USB
Since 0123z, heard several XLR8 IDs every few minutes, some punkin rock I don't recognize.  Fair to good signal through midwestern QRN.

0200-0250z: Listening outdoors with Sony 2010 portable and switching between built-in whip and PA0RDT with various lengths of horizontal wire. Generally better signal than the Palstar with outdoor 1/8 wavelength passive vertical loop, which still picks up some white noise due to proximity to apartment building.  Quietest reception with least QRN was with around 40' of my thinnest spool of magnet wire stretched horizontally, just a couple of feet above the ground, feeding the PA0RDT via inductive connector - a ferrite tube wrapped with several loops of magnet wire but without any direct electrical connection.  Much quieter with stronger signal than the Sony 2010 on built-in whip at maximum gain, which tends to exaggerate both QRN and local RFI.

Not taking notes but heard Cars "Bye Bye Love" around 0200z, The Orb "Fluffy Little Clouds" with the lovely hippy-trippy voice of Ricki Lee Jones around 0215z (the tune that launched a thousand remixes, possibly more influential than earlier remix artists like Art of Noise); some reggae around 0240z, not sure if Bob Marley.  Several clear XLR8 IDs.

Really good audio, much easier to appreciate after 0200z when the QRN static crashes subsided a bit.

0303z: SSTV, no copy, I don't have MMSSTV or any recorder hooked up at the moment.
0310z: XLR8 ID, more music.  Fainter signal now, starting to fade under local RFI white noise.
0324z: Off or faded out after ID around 0324z.
