Sounds like a radio drama? SIO 555.  "Have gun, will travel" according to the announcer.

Weak carrier first noticed at 1240 UTC, big jump in signal strength at 1244 UTC but still no audio.  Music track then played at 1256 UTC followed by a big signal drop and eventually into the OTR drama.  Signal ranged from S4 to S9.

Hearing a nice S6 signal here with superb audio at 1333 UTC. Ambient instrumental music with some minor fading...very soothing to start off the New Years Eve :)
1341 UTC A very lovely sounding YL now....
1344 UTC Audio cut out but carrier still on...short tone at 1347 UTC...
1351 Carrier off
1358 UTC On abruptly with "Victim of Love"-Eagles (S8 here with a bit of flutter)
1401 UTC Off again, carrier and all....

Whatever this is, there seems to a low power/hi power component. Almost like an amplifier is being switched on and off. I heard this last night too.

I heard something similar last night, too, JB. Heard a CSN tune with nice audio, the carrier dropped for some announcements, came back up, then went wobbly during the rest of the talk. Then it sounded like it was operating with controlled carrier AM w/ some fm'ing.

It was such a hassle to demodulate, I gave up. Perhaps a linear going bad?
