CONGO. 6115, Radio Congo, 0534-0555, March 23.

My reception here on March 21 was completely all "RN2" (Japan),
from 0518 till clear ID at 0600, with no hint of Radio Congo.

March 23, completely different propagation; fairly decent reception;
clear "Radio Congo" ID, with xylophone(?) before and after ID; only
after about 0550 was there any sign of "RN2" far underneath. Radio
Congo really dominated the frequency!

My audio (poor quality), starting with ID, at  https://goo.gl/CEqe64  .
Rather pleased to hear this one with a solid ID.

Ron, listening at Asilomar State Beach (near Monterey), Calif.

Update:

What a difference 24 hours makes!

March 24, at 0518 was able to start to make out the audio for "RN2"
(// 9760), which steadily improved with English IDs at 0520, 0540 &
0600, on 6115. No trace of any signal from Congo. None at all.
Only heard "RN2" (Japan) audio the whole time (pop songs in English
and Japanese). So this reception was identical to that of my March 21
reception. Propagation changing a lot every day!

Was unable to hear the new Zambia station on 6065. At 0554 sounded
like open carrier/test tone, but I never heard any audio, as it just seemed
too weak till tuned out 0614. Zambia on 5915 doing well at 0426 (but later
silent). While 5005 (RNGE) had an early sign on, as was already being
heard at 0454 with pop African music (unusual to hear them before 0500);
improved till shortly after 0500, but then went downhill quickly (another case
of propagation changing on a daily basis). VON on 7255 had good signal at
0615, in vernacular.

Thanks Joe. Hope others can catch this one !!

CONGO. RE: Glenn Hauser's March 24 question (DXLD yg):
"We wonder if Congo is finished with its elexion-inspired
extended schedule?"

March 25, tuned in to 6115 at 0514 to find very weak open carrier;
later heard distinctive pop song clearly // 9760 (strong reception);
so only "RN2" (Japan) here till 0533.

Tuned away to check 5005 (RNGE) for possible sign on from 0534
to 0540, but nothing heard there. Re-tuned 6115 at 0540 to find that
Radio Congo had signed on between 0534 and 0540; many times
stronger than "RN2"; series of announcers clearly in French (no
African music heard); "RN2" extremely weak underneath; by 0555
had Japan getting stronger and Congo getting weaker. As usual
"RN2" was playing non-stop EZL pop songs.

March 27 heard Radio Congo sign on at *0554; announcer in
French; 0556 sounded like Anthem; mixing with Japan ("RN2");
after 0600 Congo unusable. Had much better Congo reception
when they signed on earlier.
