Well…..I don't know! I'm listening to it right now, 0750 UT (June 15) on 7259.95 kHz in the Bislama language and occasional English anncts, with a solid signal into Mount Evelyn. Maybe they found a few spare coins behind the cushions on the couch! Either that or someone is peddling very hard….  ;)

They were back on the air a day after being shut off when Vanuatu Broadcasting & Television Corporation reached a deal with the power company to turn them back on.  They were silent for about 24 hours after spending several days on generators.

This is the best I've ever heard Radio Vanuatu:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l4zYNfB_zbo

They often sound a lot worse.. and the modulation is barely above the noise floor most times

Yes, that's what the article says....

The country has "priors" when it comes to the management of the state coffers. There have been allegations of corruption in the past. Other Pacific nations such as Australia and especially New Zealand have regularly lent a hand to keep the broadcaster on the air. But some are of the opinion that this financial and practical support is wasted as the Vanuatu Govt doesn't always want to help itself. Then things like last year's huge destruction resulting from the cyclone set the nation back. Lots of issues operating in that island nation unfortunately! Sad, really.

Here's a YouTube video of the station on June 9, using the Yaesu FTDX3000. Solid signal.
