2342 UTC I've got a very loud and annoying ute or data blob starting around 6976.5 up past 6980 that's making things really difficult  >:( I am hearing a very weak carrier on about 6976.6.......using LSB and a tweak of the Pass Band tuning knob, I am hearing bits of audio....
0005 UTC Wow! Now it's S8 here and the ute blob is gone! Orchestral instrumental tune now :)
0006 UTC "Call Me Irresponsible"-Jackie Gleason
0009 UTC Synth YL chatting...mention of "How Sweet It Is", Jackie Gleason chatting...mention of "One of these days", then YL talking about the Honeymooners and his role as Ralph Kramden..."Jackie Gleason dead at 71"..."The Great One"
0012 UTC "I Only Have Eyes For You"-Jackie Gleason Orchestra
(Excellent audio and signal is in the clear, well above the T-Storm static 8))
0015 UTC Synth YL with ID and email addy and mention of QSL requests, followed by Ralph Kramden repeating "How Sweet It Is" and "I've Got a Big Mouth" ;D ( [email protected] )
0017 UTC OFF (And the ute blob is now audible...)

Thanks for the cool show!  :)

My first job was working in a bakery owned by a former June Taylor dancer. The front of the place was plastered with pics of the Great One and the rest of the cast. (And the owner in her prime, not hard to look at, at all.)

About an S-5 on nothing but the Grundig G5 and the whip. Too much storm noise to use an outdoor antenna and expect to clearly hear anything. I'm a huge Gleason fan, the show brought back a lot of memories for me. Thanks!

I have one question for the op if they're lurking; Was the show live from the ballroom of the Raccoon Lodge or the Fontaine Bleu Hotel in Beeuuteeful Miami Beach, Florida?

Late Post:
17 June 2016 from 0000 to 0017 UTC on 6977 kHz in the AM mode, receiving a great program from the Jackie Gleason era of TV!

After tuning in tonight, I heard a male announcer say "I happen to be a fan of Jackie Gleason"

At 0002 UTC, I heard an orchestra playing, with a lead saxophone solo. Trumpets entered around 0006 UTC, with band accompaniment, perhaps the Jackie Gleason Orchestra.

At 0009 UTC, a male announcer introduced Jackie Gleason and The Honeymooners. At 0009 UTC, the year 1985 and Art Carney were mentioned by a female announcer.

At 0011 UTC, a male announcer said: "Jackie Gleason dead at 71." A trumpet solo was heard at 0013 UTC.

Station ID was picked up at 0015 UTC as follows by a female announcer: "[email protected]," "Thank you for listening," followed by Jackie saying his famous lines "How Sweet It Is" and "I Got A Big Mouth."

0017 UTC - sign-off occurred. Good signal into northern New Jersey tonight! Thanks for the memories and show! Please QSL.
