UNID 8060 AM at 0130 UTC, 7/11/16
« on: July 11, 2016, 0223 UTC »
Hello HFU group. Been listening to something on 8060 AM here in central MN that seems to be relaying The Hunt with John Walshand many references to CNN with the standard commercials with it also at 0130. Shortwave Schedule.com shows nothing there. Signal is a S7-8and audio good. Any idea or am I getting image reflection of some sort?

0232 - S4 to S5 carrier, audio mostly unintelligible, but definitely there.
0240 - sounds like a Chevy commercial, and followed by more ads. Showtime ad.

Signal was received weakly here in Western Virginia at the time of 05:23 UTC on my Tecsun PL-660 receiver. I stepped outside and using the telescopic antenna exclusively, received a weak carrier, accompanied by weak audio. A male announcer was heard as was a brief  musical interlude.

Very interesting!
Florida, always listening via my Tecsun PL-660 receiver.

Signal faded out around 0240 with no ID given except for many references to CNN. Don't know if it was a legit SWBC or a pirate rebroadcasting CNN. It was very interesting. ;D A gentleman in the SWL Group on Facebook though it could have been Armed Forces Radio Network. Maybe?

Hearing 8060 this morning, there were news reports about Dallas around 1100z, now hearing music at 1130z.

Now hearing Glenn Hauser with World of Radio at 1226z. Perhaps this is a pirate?

2328Z Hearing something, seems like mostly talking. Thought I heard some sound effects a while ago. Not strong enough to make out anything, but a bit stronger than yesterday.

8060 is an ALE frequency, I wonder if this is a "pirate".

This is a pirate, relaying Wolverine Radio, itself another pirate on 6950.

it is definately someone else other then Wolverine Radio, that much we know so far.

8060 was heard in Michigan and Wisconsin with fairly strong signals, in South Carolina readable but weaker and a friend in Mobile, Alabama had it strong
