Glenn Yarbrough, a founding member of folk trio The Limeliters, has died. He was 86.

The folk singer's daughter, Holly Yarbrough Burnett, says he died surrounded by friends and family at home Thursday in Nashville, Tennessee, after suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, dementia and other health issues.

Yarbrough sang and played guitar with fellow Limeliters members Lou Gottlieb and Alex Hassilev from 1959 and 1963.

The group was known for such songs as "There's a Meetin' Here Tonight," ''City of New Orleans," ''A Dollar Down" and "Lonesome Traveler."

Yarbrough left the group in 1963 and had a solo career that spanned nearly 40 years. He achieved his highest charting success with the 1965 song "Baby the Rain Must Fall." It reached No. 2 on Billboard's adult contemporary chats.

Is he related to Cedric Yarbrough'? I liked Cedric in "Reno 911' and 'The Boondocks". I never heard of Glenn, but any relative of Cedric's is OK with me.

Cedric is a name that ought to be brought back. My Grandpa had a Uncle Cedric. When you make an honest woman of that child you're dating you should name your first son Cedric, Al. "Cedric Fansome" has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?

Have a few boys and you could start a TV show called "My Three Fansome's: Cedric, Cephus, and Pigmeat, No Ernie."

A friend of mine from high school had the middle name of "Cedric". He always used the middle initial of "C" back then, because he didn't like the name. Finally, after he had been graduated from Brown and had started a fine career as a TV correspondent, and later as a lawyer, that he started to use his full middle name.

They had high schools when you were young? Was it in the main troop's tree or an adjacent one?
