OH Dear!

No, I haven't got any experience with that antenna and nor would I and neither should you!

If you're listening to S.W. the antenna will need to be outside, if you're outside you can attach a decent antenna, at least a long piece of wire up to a tall support (tree) or something or at very least a long telescopic.

A short antenna with an amplifier will just pick up and amplify a lot of noise.

Maybe fine for UHF but not for S.W.

Save your money bud, just buy some wire, oh and spend the rest on beer/drugs/girls, whatever!

Str.
'It's better to give than receive' so why Rx when you can Tx!

The guy does have an aftermarket coax fitting to attach a real antenna to the CountyComm radio. It cost about three bucks before shipping. You just unscrew the bar, attach the fitting and your coax line and you're ready to go. If the same adapter will work for the pictured radio, give it a try with a real antenna. That plastic thing isn't going to do crap but make you cuss the day you bought it.

It might work ok, if you're way out in the sticks, on battery power, with no ac lines or inhabited dwellings within a mile or so.
