Transmitting SSTV over WBFM (wideband FM)
« on: September 20, 2016, 0450 UTC »
Tried that today on 92.9 FM station. Worked beautifully! I would love if some commercial stations would try this out to get some people more interested in radio again. It is not hard AT ALL even for a dumbass like me to hook up an FM radio to the mic jack on your laptop, turn on RXSSTV or MMSSTV- pick the proper mode of decoding and hit GO. Not hard at all

It should work fine over a telephone too, but you'd have to get the average dumbass to care, which surveying the FM audience anywhere in this country isn't very likely.

Just my 2 cents...

Way to go, atrain.

If you can find some images that, when aired as SSTV, sound like "Freebird" or "Kashmir", no one will even notice.

VOA has been experimenting with digital over SWBC AM,
mostly successfully, for a couple of years. Checkout
http://voaradiogram.net/. You might get some useful
information / ideas. Yours is the first I've heard of using
WBFM. Sounds like a good idea. BTW: Does your station
stream and when is your program?
