WHITE HOUSE BUDGET INDICATES CUTS AT FCC
« on: March 19, 2017, 1538 UTC »
"Specifics on the FCC’s budget were not included in a barebones 53-page “skinny budget” that’s typically submitted to Congress by newly sworn-in Presidents. But the blueprint points to cutting the agency’s funding by 9.8% in the fiscal year that begins in October."

That's a "silver lining", at least.

Well, with today's SDR technology, automation takes over. One office can remotely monitor all monitoring stations, if they aren't already. Where I suspect everyone will feel the pinch is waiting for licensing approvals and renewals. I suspect that will now take longer to do.
“I am often asked how radio works. Well, you see, wire telegraphy
is like a very long cat. You yank his tail in New York and he
meows in Los Angeles. Do you understand this? Now, radio is
exactly the same, except that there is no cat.”
-Attributed to Albert Einstein, but I ripped it from the latest Splatter .PDF March 2025 issue.
