Outhouse Radio 6930u 8/21/10 02:01 sio222, weak signal and a lot of static, heard some punk-like music, and now some sort of percussion stuff with girls squealing, very clear id at 02:08, getting just slammed by OTHR every once in a while, "Do You Feel Like I Do"

6930 USB, slowly drifted toward 6930.3 USB and stabilized by 0205z.
Audible since around 0150z.  Outhouse Radio ID (computer voice?) around 0155z and 0205z, and sounds like live version of Frampton "Do You Feel Like We Do".
0220z: "Jumpin' Jack Flash", sounds like Motorhead version?
0225z: Outhouse Radio op live on mic.
0225z: "Green Onions"
SINPO=2(mebbe 3)4332, a little stronger after 0210z.  Audio sounds good, seems neutral, not too thin or bassy.

Not bad for the stock microphone laying in front of the speakers !!!  surprised me !! but i do need to make a audio cable  ;)

LOL, no kidding?  Not bad at all, at least from this perspective.  With better reception here I might have more useful feedback but it sounded pretty darned good considering the mic technique.  Now that you mention it, the best audio sound I've recorded from the Palstar R30C w/ SP30 speaker was with my favorite old dynamic mic (similar to the Shure SM5x series) an inch or so from the speaker.  Main reason I switched to a direct connection was to eliminate room noise.  But the audio sounded better with the mic up to the speaker.

the stock HM-36 that comes with the radio    speakers are JBL amplified computer speakers  :)

They say that Radio Bob used to rubber-band earphones to his mic to do his broadcasts, and his stuff always sounded good. He used an Icom 746, but I don't know what microphone he used.
