The Project Amelia Earhart 80th Anniversary Flight includes HF operation on ATC and Ham freqs.
Pilot Brian Lloyd is the first solo aviator to attempt the historic Earhart equatorial route, and is about 2/3 of the way round-the-world now.
He is active on HF using Aeronautical ATC on the MWARA channels with callsign N916BL.
Also, he is active on ham radio using callsign WB6RQN.
He scans and sounds on ALE using a subset of the common HFN and HFL ham radio net channels, in the 5 MHz to 21 MHz range.
Most of his ALE-initiated voice SSB activity so far has been on 14346.0 kHz USB and 18117.5 kHz USB.
Watch for activity from 13 July to 24 July, when he will be over the Pacific Ocean and North America.
He is scheduled to overfly Howland Island on 15 or 16 July.

On our national news in Australia last week it was reported that the Japanese military had both Fred Noonen and Earhart "captive" on Jaluit Atoll in the Marshall Islands.

A grainy black & white photograph taken on Jaluit showed two "westerners" sitting amongst Japanese soldiers on the wharf on Jaluit.

"Profiling" of the image said "it was near certain that the two profiles matched both Earhart and Noonen."

The mystery continues...amazing how both the Japanese and American governments are so "hush hush" over this picture coming to light. ;D

In the end, it will be revealed Emilia and Fred lived out their days in regal splendor as the King and Queen of the Penguins.

Or in a traditionally constructed shack on an uninhabited never visited island in Eastern Kiribati, then again, they would have procreated and built up a small village. ::)

The saga continues with another twist and turn, a lot like Roswell and the aliens who crash landed, denial and excuses and other various spin... :D

Have you ever seen photo's of Amelia? Fred would have stuck with holes in coconuts and thought of Eleanor Roosevelt.

That poor girl. At least they stuck a rag on her head to cover up a sizable portion of the worst part. Scarier than Belinda Carlisle, and we all know how she looks.

A picture of Amelia in her playpen as an infant! And in color! Do you know how rare these are?

I've got a buddy who's an archivist at the Smithsonian. Would you like me to test the waters on what they might want to pay for it?

Oh heavens no, if it ever got over into the National Archives we wouldn't want the Hitler Channel to be hamming it up
