Arecibo ionosphere HF radio modifcation campaign
« on: July 23, 2017, 2112 UTC »
Arecibo ionosphere HF radio modifcation campaign!

If you are reading this then another radio event of possible interest is the upcoming Arecibo ionosphere HF heating campaign during 24 to 31 July 2017. The new Arecibo ionosphere HF heater nominally transmits 600 kilowatts net power (100 to 200 megawatts effective radiated power) and has a unique Cassegrain dual-array antenna design that increases gain of three crossed dipoles for each band using the signature 1000 ft spherical dish reflector. Read more about the Arecibo HF facility at http://www.naic.edu/~astro/ao50/Arecibo_50th_Paper_Breakall_revised_Oct_23_2013.pdf

During the upcoming campaign, the Arecibo HF transmitter is limited to two frequencies, 5.125 and 8.175 MHz. Campaign HF transmissions will start at approximately 1600 hours UTC and be active approximately 24 hours per day, with some occasional downtime for maintenance and other activities lasting one or more hours.  Generally, the 8.175 MHz transmissions will occur in the daytime when foF2 is expected to exceed that value, between approximately 1830 and 2230 hours UTC. Otherwise the HF transmissions will occur at 5.125 MHz. The Arecibo incoherent scatter radar (ISR) will also be active throughout most of the campaign, but since it operates in the UHF band at 430 MHz long distance propagation is not expected.

These transmissions will be in the vertical direction so this is an excellent opportunity to observe NVIS from a powerful transmitter in Puerto Rico. My own experiments are O-mode polarized CW (kicking off the campaign at 1600 hours on 24 July 2017 UTC) for measuring plasma wave and turbulence effects. Experiments by other scientists may use X-mode polarization. To the best of my knowledge, all experiments will be CW with no amplitude or frequency modulation.

If they did, you know who would have his CalTech pals there playing the Go-Go's 24/7. We'd never be able to contact other intelligent lifeforms once they hear Belinda caterwauling full blast. We'll be lucky if they don't steer a supernova blast our way to make it stop.

This is very dangerous. I recall a pirate broadcast years ago about an alien invasion that occurred when the aliens homed in on the Arecibo signal, and paid them a visit. There was local panic, but apparently the authorities were able to hush it up, as I can't find any mention of it on the net now. I was personally terrified, and had to make use of my safety cupboard.

Art Bell put the feed up on his show live when it popped up on the Shuttle frequency on 40 meters, thinking the Space Brothers had come. It was off of his site in little over a day.

That and the really scary, spooky crystal skull that was watching Art made him give up the show for the first of many times, taking refuge in the Philippines far from the nefarious forces that were after him in Nevada.

Art seems to get his supply of very young wives from the Philippines, too. He picked up a new one there the last time he was hiding out from the Illuminiod Horde.

I wonder if he and Alex Jones get into fistfights over who has received the most visits from The Men In Black?

Even if the signal was thousands of order of magnitude I still couldn't hear the damned thing here in the wastelands of 0-hi-0  (I'm not joking thanks to the local electric services) The noise level here from approximately 5500 khz down to the long wave band are certainly being heard on Pluto...

I'll give it a try later but I should know better than waste my time <sigh>

p.s.

There is no intelligent life here or on other planets... take from me... Never was Never will be... I'd know...

Wait!!!

Think of the satellites...  gobs of RF energy hitting those things just might burn those sensitive devices to the heat of hell...  Hope it hits MTV first...

So if Bill Hicks is Alex Jones does this mean that Pat Buchanan is Andy Kaufman?

I think Andy is Donald Trump. About the same age... Trump started becoming a celebrity right after Andy "died..." The parts of the puzzle fit, man.  ;D

I dunno, did Ted Turner ever finance Kaufman? Ted purchased Hicks for his Alex Jones disinfowars project.
