Radio New Zealand? 7425 khz 1015 UTC 26 Sep 2017

I think I just heard Radio New Zealand on 7425 into southwestern CT.  Very hard to hear, a lot of static on that frequency.  If it was indeed RNZ, that's one of my best catches from here.  Just sent them a QSL request via Facebook....we'll see if it was them.  :)

Hi Matt -

It was indeed RNZI.  I pick them up regularly just up the road from you in Central Connecticut.  Albeit, the window has been narrowing on reception as summer draws down....previously as early as 0800utc, now only starts at 1030utc.  They switch to another frequency for B-Season which starts the end of October.

Folks in the midwest have been receiving them on a different frequency at 1200utc (6170) but I have had no luck.  Scroll down the shortwave board where your post is located, you will see many RNZI loggings.  They have a great music program on Saturday.  You should get an eQSL back from them, no more paper.

Tecsun H501x (broadcast received on this unless noted), Zenith T/O G500, Zenith T/O Royal 7000, Emerson AR-176, Zenith 8S154, T/O 7G605 (Bomber), Tecsun PL-600, Tecsun PL-880, Zenith 5S320, Realistic DX 160 using 40 feet of copper wire.  With apologies to Senator Gramm for his thoughts on firearms, "I have more radios than I need but not as many as I want."

I get them regularly on 7425 and later at 6170. I listen to them most mornings in the car on 7425 on the way into work (Pioneer car stereo with SW & 31" whip). On mornings that I'm home, I'll listen on 7425 and then switch to 6170 until they fade as the sun comes up here.

The TL;DR version of the sked:
2051-0258: 13840
0259-0458: 11725
0459-0658:  9630
0659-1258:  7425
1259-1858:  6170

On Saturdays they have a few more freqs. Full sked at:

Yankee,

RNZI sent me a message back...they could informally confirm my reception, but they are no longer issuing QSL cards.  Oh well.  :(
