new east coast beacon

a new dasher on 8.193 sending abt.40 dashes per minute from the east coast is on the air sundown to sunrise running 10 milliwatts into a 12 ft vertical 3 feet above the ground......would think that the erp would make it Part 15 ? thanks.

I have a copy on a station there, but frequency is quite a bit lower than 40/min. More like 15/min  (see below)

I just tuned in the transmitter and due to component changes from temp changes ect. i am counting 32 dashes per minute

I have what sounds like two beacons near that freq.

Beacon 1 is a short dasher, center frequency was about 8193.7 kHz and rising at 1742 UTC.  Dashes are about 150 msec long and spaced about 775 msec apart, for a PRI of about 925 msec.  All with some pulse to pulse variation, but making about 65 dashes per minute.  When I first looked at it 15 minutes before that the freq was around 8193.5 kHz, so it shifted up 200+ Hz in 15 minutes.

Beacon 2 is also a dasher, center frequency about 8194.5 kHz.  Frequency looks fairly stable although the dashes have a pronounced sag down in frequency during the pulse.  This sag is about 150 Hz from beginning of pulse to end.  The dashes are about 525 msec long and the spacing is about 550 msec, for a PRI of about 1075 msec, or about 56 dashes per minute.

beacon 8.1936 is running 32 dashes per minute with a new 21 foot vertical and still running 10 milliwatts. hope the longer vertical helps....running SDSR based on local sunset. jr
