RNZI 7355 am 1300 utc 29 Oct 2017
« on: October 29, 2017, 1302 UTC »
Quite faint and noisy with fades, don't know if reception will be this way during B-17 or that I am in the beginning throes of a 24 hour rainy nor'easter.  Scheduled to be on until 1700z.

1300z  YL faintly giving news.
1323z No reception at all now, hints of a transmission.

I slept in and didn't check until about 1510. Weak and noisy here in the west, but it was usually completely faded when it was on one of their 49m channels at this time.

Did you listen prior to the 1100 frequency change? I wonder if they're back to beaming only toward PNG at that time.

I tuned in to 11610 around 1230 UTC today (Monday the 30th), fair copy with rapid fading. I'm guessing that they may still have the dual antenna beam happening as described at their website's technical page, and that the signal's relative weakness was due to being on 25m on an entirely dark path to my QTH (sunrise is around 1330 here). In the past, when the NW beam was all they were using, I likely would have gotten JBA at the most, even on 31 or 41m.

Signal was a bit better on 7355 after the frequency change at 1300z.
