Good reception on both.

Well, not the actual rivalry but as close as you will come to it in the UK.  Premier League power Liverpool is hosting the club many feel and is the finest in Europe this year, Manchester City.  But it is more than the coincidental colors (Liverpool red and Manchester City blue) that makes this Yanks/Sox.  Fenway Sports (the Red Sox) bought Liverpool and their grounds (Anfield) eight years ago.  Non-live telecasts of Liverpool are shown on the Red Sox NESN station.  Liverpool has played pre-season matches at Fenway

Meanwhile, The Yanks and Man City are joint owners of the MLS side NYCFC, non-live broadcasts of Man City matches are shown on the Yankee Network (YES).  City has played pre-season at Yankee Stadium. These two clubs act like their MLB affiliates - Liverpool sent midfield star Coutinho to Barcelona, for literally more than what the Mets payroll will be, because he wants out after this year.  They went on to acquire star defender Van Dijk from Southampton.  Man City (owned by a UAE oil rich prince) gets criticized for spoiling the game with money.

Should be a doozy of a match.  City punished Liverpool 5-0 at the Etihad in their first meeting as the Reds played a man down most of the match.  City will control the ball 75-80% of the time when both teams are at full strength, bad news when you go down a man to them.  Liverpool is undefeated, in fourth, in their last seventeen matches in all competitions.  City sits atop of the league table, unbeaten in their last thirty league matches.

1610z Shot by Chamberlain in the lower corner, goal - 1-0 Liverpool.
1619z "De Bruyne with a pass to Sane in the box but cleared away before it reaches him."
1620z "Now with De Bruyne with a cross but just pass the reach of Augero"
1623z "Sane with a shot deflected wide, corner kick for City."
1627z "Delph has returned.  Ball to Sane cleared away by Liverpool - they lead 1-nil"
1631z Delph coming off for City, Danilho replacing him.  City has had more possessions but not as good sets.
1633z "De Bruyne with a low hard shot from outside the box, saved.  Liverpool lead here 1-nil."
1639z "Left footed shot by Salah, saved by Ederson"
1641z "Sane breaks through the Liverpool defense, shoots nearside, and scores. 1-1 here at Anfield."
1647z Halftime 1-1
