S4 @ 1715, sounded like a canned commercial broadcast ID.
1718 - "98.6" Keith.  Best around 6930.020
1726 - recording of old WNBC ID,  seems to be audio from an old WNBC broadcast, from the mid-1980's.

1834 - S5 peaks with Elton John tune

2020 - S7 with WNBC ID, then "The Game Of Love"

6930Khz  coming in pretty fair here in Toronto, Canada.

Very little fade though some pretty strong static riding along with the signal.

ADDON: went Silent at 17:53 UTC..

Sorry I wasn't around to catch the transmission.  Some interesting history here, I was an avid listener to WNBC.  By what everyone is describing, the clips must have been among the last broadcasts on WNBC.  Those call letters were last used Oct. 1, 1987 when the station became WFAN.
Tecsun H501x (broadcast received on this unless noted), Zenith T/O G500, Zenith T/O Royal 7000, Emerson AR-176, Zenith 8S154, T/O 7G605 (Bomber), Tecsun PL-600, Tecsun PL-880, Zenith 5S320, Realistic DX 160 using 40 feet of copper wire.  With apologies to Senator Gramm for his thoughts on firearms, "I have more radios than I need but not as many as I want."

CT Yankee, I think it was October 1988, and some of the news items would place this broadcast sometime in 1988.

Refmo - My advanced age is blurring my recall, you are correct, WFAN started (on 1050) in 1987 - they went to 660 in October 1, 1988.  (A Mets pre-game show vs. the Cards in the NLDS to which I listened as they switched - Mets missed the playoffs in '87)
