Came across an advert for the
Alinco DX R-8 communications receiver for around AUD$1,000 which is strange, as Alinco market the DX-SR9T transceiver (which looks identical to the DX R-8 receiver) "on sale" for also AUD$1,000.
Since 1975 I have always had Yaesu, Kenwood, Drake or Icom so Alinco is unknown to me.
Currently in the market for a new comms receiver, mostly to suit NDB DXing on Low Wave, some MW but mostly Utility bands covering CW and SSB on aviation, marine and numbers stations.
Has anyone owned the DX R-8 receiver by Alinco, and if so what do you think of it in general? It looks very small, I am used to a larger base style radio, don't really like fiddly buttons and knobs too close together.
Valued opinions welcome...
