Excellent reception

1620 "....and it hits the back of the net and Manchester City score first in the Cup Final.  This is the BBC World Service and that was the opening goal.  Manchester City 1. Watford nil."   YAY! :D

1630 "Watford have really got to play now, what have they got to lose?  Brilliant goal by David Silva"

1638 "Bernardo Silva curls it to Jesus who gets it to Sterling and he scores.  What a goal! It is 2-nil Manchester City.  They are incredible."

1640 "Manchester City looking for a third before half, Mahrez witt a shot, but it's punched away to the right.  They are really going for it."

1646 "There is your halftime whistle.  Manchester City in their 62nd match of the year, looking incredible.  They thought the quadruple was possible this year.  But they are up 2-nil at the half."

1711 "Kevin De Bruyne is about to come on for Mahrez.  De Bruyne's been training well the past 10 days.  He's looking for his own treble having won the Belgian and German cups."

1717 "Kevin De Bruyne shoots and scores. 3-nil Manchester City here on the BBC World Service". Nice substitution, Pep!

1724 "De Bruyne to Jesus, 4-nil Manchester City.  This match was not lost on goal 3 or 4 but early on."

1750 "That's the final whistle. 6-nil Manchester City with a record equalling score line, in a record setting season"

Thanks for the Congrats, MDK2.  Yes, it was quite a season.  Brilliant players with a maestro for a coach.  I will be rooting for Spurs.  Is there a statue for Son outside the new stadium yet?

In other football related news, One of my sons is working in Istanbul (CL Final there next year) this week.  He was downtown the night Galatasaray won the Super Lig, quite celebration - he sent video.

I bet. I like how other cultures seem to be truly united when they celebrate a sports victory. Way back in 2002 I was driving through Vancouver when we got stuck in traffic and there were people celebrating in the streets. An elusive Canucks win of the Cup? Ha! No, it was the local Serbian population celebrating their homeland's victory of the world basketball championship. I can only imagine what it was like in Belgrade right at that time.

Rochdale is the best side in Manchester and everyone knows it. Manchester City has been dodging them for years.

Everyone knows you can't score 20 goals in a game much less a half. I'll take that bet and put up Fansome and his goat. What are you putting up?

Hmmmm......FA Cup might be a tough catch for the full match today (June 1).  I had not realized it was a 1900 start.  I did hear the BBC will carry but the only 2 hour straight frequency then is 12095.  15400 cuts off at 2000 utc.  9410 and 11810 begin at 2000 utc.  9410 continues at 2100 utc (so you can hear Son's clinching PK) but from Ascension rather than Woofferton.
