Gary Burbank, IMO, the greatest radio personality of the past 50 years, used to bounce between WCKY and WLW. He and his afternoon drive time crew used to pull elaborate hoaxes on major corporations that took them months to set up.

I think that's why Gary and the gang bounced around so much? You can't piss off the folks who own your advertisers. I wonder if he's still doing his "Earl Pitts; Uhmerican" bits in retirement?

My vote goes to  "LARRY LUJACK ON WCFL , THE VOICE OF LABOR" 1000 am out of Chicago back in the 60's and 70's.   His "Animal Story" features with " Lil' Tommy" were priceless.  A few years ago I ran across a vinyl of their best ones in an antique store in Ft Walton Beach FL
