The gummint plans to test the national Emergency Alert System Wednesday, November 9, at 2 pm (Eastern).

Personally, I think we should bring back CONELRAD.

If they're able to pull this off successfully it will prove 5/21/11 and 10/21/11 were gummint conspiracies planned by NSA director Harold Camping, Elvis was assassinated by Chuck Barris, Ted Kaczynski was the first man on the moon and Van Halen really was KISS.

Lots of interesting stuff going on tomorrow . The EAS test  ,Earth enters the debris field of Elinin, 2005 YU55 passes between the Earth and Moon,and earthquake occurrence is at a very high level.  11/9/11 EEEEEKKKK ! Wasn't the Pentagon conducting emergency scenarios on 9/11 as well . Could be a very interesting day.

I happened to be in the car today when the nationwide EAS test kicked off, and did a little tuning around on the FM band while it was taking place.  About half of the stations were carrying the EAS test correctly; the other half were dead air.

Obviously I wasn't able to tune all receiveable stations due to the short duration of the test, but that's still a better result than in the EBS false alarm of 1971!
