Flightwatch, Australia 6541 khz USB 14:36 UTC - 30 Jan

Just heard several aero comms between planes and "Flightwatch". One of the planes called them "Brisbane Flightwatch" so I looked at my HF Aero Map and found out this is an RDARA (domestic HF aero) frequency in Australia! Skip conditions must be really good right now for signals making the trip across the Pacific to my Seattle location. I noticed VMC on 6507 khz USB coming in clearly and Radio New Zealand International booming in at an S8 on 6115 khz AM too.

Going to be hard not to specialise in Asiatic signals given your location, but the more you perfect your technique and hardware, the better to get sigs from the Atlantic side of things too.

i think you're right! honestly, i'm going to have to pick up Korean, Mandarin, Japanese and maybe Tagalog. i'm already semi-fluent in Thai.  if only i could pick up more signals from south rather than west. i'm very good with Spanish. one of my relatives teaches English in China so maybe she can help me with my Mandarin when she isn't busy.
