Reception of The Vault on 6985 with European kiwiSDR's
on Saturday 18 july 2020, around 13:30 to 14:00 UTC.

- easy on NW Ireland SDRs
- impossible on England SDRs (at 500 km from NW Ireland)
- good again (or almost) at 1000 km on the continent

My guess : vertical antenna, good for direct signal (short range), good at night for long distances, bad choice for medium sky wave ranges (including all of England and Scotland in that particular case).

edit : maybe the vertical antenna is just on the shore, giving the best long range signal over the ocean.

I have the carrier here directly at 2050 UTC, which is surprising for this early across the pond! No audio detectable yet. I am hearing some peskies yakking now on 6985 USB.
2302 UTC "Like A Rolling Stone"-Bob Dylan (Nice S5 peaks with light fading amidst moderate static crashes)
2307 UTC OM with "Your song is in the vault waiting to be unlocked", into "Foxy Lady"-Jimi Hendrix, followed by "Tin Man"-America
