Time-like pulse, ~12100
« on: June 06, 2012, 1454 UTC »
Over the past week, I've been hearing both a one and two frequency pulse across multiple frequencies.  The stations appears at 12095 and is audible in CW up through 12200.  The signal content is a pulse, mostly on one frequency, but occasionally "drifts" out of phase and becomes two pulses, closely spaced in time and slightly offset in frequency (~100 Hz).  I haven't checked how often the signal is present during other times, but it has been there between 0400--0630 UTC since 28 May.  Possibly unrelated, there is an RTTY broadcast often present at 12121 as well.

Cheers,

IIRC, Chris did some research into these.... they're found all across the band. Purpose? ??? ???

Peace!

Currently audible again near 12100 kHz (0334 8 Jun.).  I've made a recording of the pulses.  If anyone is interested, I can send some clips along.

cmradio, do you mean this type of signal is audible for others across the entire 25m band, or just in the 12100--12200 kHz range?
