Rave On Radio 6925 USB
« on: June 25, 2012, 0234 UTC »
6/25/12, 6925 USB, 0220z: Bob Dylan "Hurricane", Rave On Radio ID.  Rough copy through heavy static crashes.

No criticism of the op - or Bob Dylan - intended, but check out the *real* story of Rubin "Hurricane" Carter.  If every radio and TV station did that, they'd never again play the misguided propaganda song and movie.  If Dylan and Denzel Washington valued their credibility they'd ask that the song and movie never be aired again.  On the other hand, maybe it's no worse than The Ballad of Jesse James and any other murder ballad, so what the heck...  ::)

Please 'scuse my sermonizing.  I was an amateur boxer and boxing fan when that song and Carter's autobiography came out.  I read it and fell for it too, until finding out later about the real guy.  Good fighter, though - KO'd the great Emile Griffith.  But not the victim of society he was portrayed to be.

Recorder catch:

Weak to fair signal with fading - haven't had time to go through recording yet, but started getting audio from Rave On Radio around 03:09z & was able to hear SSTV at end of broadcast at 03:21z

Audio (03:09z-03:21z): http://archive.org/download/ShortwavePirateRadioCont/RaveOnRadio6925Usb0309z-0321z06-25-12.mp3

S7 signal here at peak around 0206, which is pretty good for Rave on Radio here.
Scottie 1 SSTV at the end:
