R. Dunamis Shortwave 4750 kHz from Uganda
« on: January 02, 2021, 1810 UTC »
https://www.short-wave.info/index.php

This site is saying everyday it is On AIR on 4750 kHz from 15:00-19:00 UTC.
But I cannot verify that it is.  The new copy of WRTH 2021 does not list the station for 4750 kHz.
Only Bangladesh Betar and Voice of Indonesia are listed for 4750 kHz.

So anyone ever heard the R. Dynamis from Mukono Uganda on 4750 kHz?
Or has information on the station?

Don't know where you are trying to receive this station, nor your radio set up, but if it is North America during that timeframe, you have two things working against you: 1) They are only transmitting at 1kW and 2) The frequency used for the time of day.
The only time I receive such low powered transmissions in that frequency range on the East Coast is from dusk to dawn and only from South America.

I have never received Dunamis and, as mentioned, I am on the East Coast fairly close to the water.  The only loggings I saw on line for them were from SE Asia.
Tecsun H501x (broadcast received on this unless noted), Zenith T/O G500, Zenith T/O Royal 7000, Emerson AR-176, Zenith 8S154, T/O 7G605 (Bomber), Tecsun PL-600, Tecsun PL-880, Zenith 5S320, Realistic DX 160 using 40 feet of copper wire.  With apologies to Senator Gramm for his thoughts on firearms, "I have more radios than I need but not as many as I want."
QTH:  Durham, Connecticut (rural setting, 15 miles north of Long Island Sound)

I am in Europe, and my RX set up is either longwire with ATU or MLA30 active loop, and ICOM IC-R75 and other few radios. I can copy 1 kW station from DX locations often when the condition is good.
But 2021 WRTH book does not list R. Dunamis for 4750 kHz at all.

The Shortwave schedule site lists it as shown on the screen capture of the station and freq. search.
This made me wonder, if R. Dunamis actually exists, or has shutdown longtime ago?

Which is right 2021 WRTH or the ShortWave Info Site on the internet?

WRTH 2021.
The station was last reported on shortwave 2016, and also disappared from the Bible Voice Broadcasting Schedule, where it was listed as long as it was active.

Thanks for your info.  So, Shortwave Info site on the internet site is wrong.
WRTH is right then.

Maybe someone could tell the Shortwave Info site on this, and ask them to update their info?
It is a bit surprising that info on the internet is outdated, and the book info is right.

On the short-wave.info Website the info is given, that the website is based on the data of the Aoki-list. The Aoki-list is a good list for international services, but on the other hand also well-known for outdated entries of domestic broadcasting stations for many years.
Further mentioned on short-wave.info that corrections should be send to Aoki: the problem, there is no known contact.

hmmm so, that is the situation. Will need to find and use other sites with WRTH then.
Pity that shortwave-info is a very nice site and many people use it.

P.S. Shortwave-info site has many adverts popping out all over their pages, so I thought they are a kind of monitored and managed site, but maybe I had been wrong.
It is the only site, which lists R. Dunamis on Air every day from 17:00 UTC, as if they are still active.
It was doing days of site update too sometime last year near the year end.  Isn't it weird?

I am only dredging this up because I copied (on a European SDR) accented English very weakly at 1805 UTC on 17 MAR 2024 on this frequency so I checked my options.  Dunamis is still listed, but so is Bangladesh Betar (Bangladesh external service) so I checked the Dimapur (India) SDR and sure enough, that's what it was.
Big into SWDX late 70s through early 90s, then forgot about it and when I returned via SDRs it wasn't at all what I remembered, but I'll deal with it. Grumble, grumble. All SDRs acknowledged, nothing is from my own radio.
