AKM makes a lot of ASIC's for audio applications.  I have digital Behringer gear with AKM IC's in it.  This will be widespread across the industry.

Fortunately, TI (Burr-Brown), Cirrus Logic, etc also make competing parts, but redesign doesn't happen overnight.
