Tuned in at 2153utc, with Barrington Hills IL sdr, fair sig with fading, old song "I'm sorry" by Brenda Lee followed by DJ announcing what he just played, at 2155 song "stay (a little bit longer)" then song "chain gang", so far nice selection of early 1960's tunes, tuned in locally with R-2000 & 7mhz dipole and weak and noisy, at 2200 song "you talk too much", at 2202 song Cathy's clown", at 2207 song "Alley Oop", at 2221 read posts to HFU, signal slowly fading, at 2223 Cubby Checker "the twist", at 2226 Tina Turner "fool in love", signal fading back in, song "burning bridges" then "mountain of love", at 2248 song "this magic moment", much banter by DJ (Zeke?), end of show,  thanks for the oldies (I was born Feb 1946).

I have been using online receivers because my 7mhz dipole came down in a storm and after my stroke on 3 June 2024 I can no longer get up on a ladder to fix it. Also too much neighborhood noise. williamhassig@yahoo.com

Good signal with a bit of noise heard via NA5B near D.C. ...

2203 UTC: "Cathy's Clown."
2204 UTC: "I'm Hurtin'" by Roy Orbison.
2207 UTC: "Alley Oop" by The Hollywood Argyles.
2209 UTC: OM announcer: "You're listening to the hit parade from 1950!" Then "Fannie Mae" by Buster Brown.
2213 UTC: "There's Something on Your Mind" by Bobby Marchan.
2217 UTC: Zeke(?) talking about the song just played, mentioning again the 1950 hits he's playing, mentioning plans to QSL. Also gave an ID that I missed.
2219 UTC: "Ooh Poo Pah Doo" by Jessie Hill.
2220 UTC: Zeke back on the mic, talking about bad reception conditions, then doing HFU shout-outs. Signal's starting to get noisier.
2223 UTC: "The Twist" by Chubby Checker, followed by songs by Ike and Tina Turner, and James Brown.
2232 UTC: Zeke back on mic, another HFU shoutout, then "Burning Bridges" by Jack Scott (No. 35 in 1950).
2238 UTC: Still listening primarily via the D.C. SDR, but I turned on my own radio and can hear just a faint bit of the music at times here near Seattle. Just barely audible in the noise.
2240 UTC: Just after "Money," Zeke back on mic with more HFU shout-outs and reception chat.

I got to the party at 2212 and heard some blues. Initially S2/S3 with poor intelligibility. The playlist drifted into early pop/rock. at 2223 heard the Twist and intelligibility improved.

QTH: Traverse City, Michigan
N8JXQ, 2m base station is now operational. Yaesu Fusion and D-Star coming soon.
