I tuned into 1640 for the first time in a while last night and heard Mexican music mixing with religious talker KDIA. That surprised me, as KZDR out of the Portland, Oregon, area used to carry third-tier conservative talk.

But, indeed, KZDR flipped in June to regional Mexican music under the branding of “La Patrona.” I heard several IDs with that name as the signal remained mostly above KDIA. This runs 1,000 watts at night; distance from me is 175 miles.
