Ball Smacker Radio 6960 AM 0106 UTC 30 JAN 2022
« on: January 30, 2022, 0108 UTC »
Tuned in at 0106utc on Barrington Hills sdr with S9+10 signal, Beach Boys "Barbara Ann", at 0113 "Maybeline", Ballsmacker ID then at 0115 "Gloria" sung by the late Laura Branigan, at 0117 tuned in locally with noisy S9+20 signal over horrible S9+15 neighborhood noise, at 0120 Dolly Parton "Jolene", at 0131 "Suzy Q" by CCR, at 0134 "along comes Mary", seems to be a theme of women's names, at 0137 gave email address of [email protected] then a tune by the late Michael Jackson, at 0146 has mostly faded away, thanks for the nice tunes.

I have been using online receivers because my 7mhz dipole came down in a storm and after my stroke on 3 June 2024 I can no longer get up on a ladder to fix it. Also too much neighborhood noise. Good signal here, the best I've copied in months. Making a recording to play back later.

0116 "Gloria"
0119 "Joline Begging You Please"

Signal is S5-S7.   Some QSB and QRM.   Signal is less readable than Wolverine Radio....but at times a S9 signal for 2-3 seconds.
Equipment is an IC-7300 using a G5RV diople up 40 feet.   Location is Winfield, IN (Crown Point, IN). ....on a cold 18F winter night....a far cry from my old home in California where it is 60F.

Good signal, Ball Smacker. Not too loud and not any problems. Just right. Thanks for the broadcast again.

Playing songs with women's names, Amanda, Cecilia, Suzy Q, and others. Fair signal here but contending with noise.

Roxanne at 0222.  Heavy fading of signal at the moment but good audio when peaking.
Station ID at 0225 followed by Fleetwood Mac.
RAdditional music by Rolling Stones, Donnie Iris, The Beatles, Elvis Costello, and Helen Reddy(?).
By 0245 station swallowed up in noise floor.
