Telecom Korea 12MHz CW Marine
« on: March 14, 2022, 0323 UTC »
Late February and during March, so far, the 12MHz channel markers/beacons of Telecom Korea, in Seoul have been off air.  This comes as their two 8MHz stations have gone off air and have not returned since September 2021.

It looks very much like they are in the process of phasing out their HF marine CW operations.

12.843.0MHz  HLO
12.916.5MHz  HLF
12.923.0MHz  HLW2
12.935.0MHz  HLG

Of note the 22.611.5MHz, once continuous transmission, is now intermittent and has had a call sign change from "HLF" to "HLG" for reasons unknown.

Yaesu FT-1000D, Yaesu FT-2000D, ICOM IC-736 HF/50MHz, ICOM IC R75 & Tecsun S-2000 to 450 feet of wire, 27MHz 1/2 wave CB antenna converted to 21MHz & a multi band vertical of dubious reliability.

12MHz CW markers are back on air today, Monday 21st of March 2022, maybe they were all off air for servicing?

0029z  12.843.0MHz  HLO 519 report.
0030z  12.916.5MHz  HLF  519 report.
0030z  12.923.0MHz  HLW2 Not heard.
0031z  12.935.0MHz  HLG  419 report.

0032z  17.130.0MHz  HLW  529 report.

0033z  22.611.5MHz  HLF  539 report. (Intermittent transmission, not continuous as previous)

The two 8MHz markers are still off air, for quite a few months now so presumed decommissioned.
