S9 signal with W3HFU KiwiSDR. Has anyone managed to get a correct ID on this station yet? I have seen multiple sources online (e.g. http://bdxc.org.uk/americas.pdf) that say this station has not been correctly identified. It is a regular station on US KiwiSDRs and I’ve even heard it a few times at my high noise QTH. I have made some observations on the station as I sometimes listen. One thing is that with such a strong signal in the USA, I suspect this station is running more power and/or better antennas than most regional shortwave broadcasters. They seem to use a lot of compression on the voice because when there is a break in the speech the background noise in the signal goes up (not static but something in the signal). The station’s studio seems to be near a highway because I have heard horns and sirens in the background of their audio. Using google translate I have determined that almost all of their content is religious talk with very occasional music from all over Latin America thrown in. I have listened at the top of the hour and I have never heard an ID (it is still possible they give one as when trying to get an ID from a Latin American station I listen for the word “Rádio” and their ID many not include that). Frequency accuracy is good being on 4939.99 kHz. The world radio TV handbook lists the station as “Fuerza de Paz, Arauca”. I wonder if the Colombian government publishes a list of licensed stations that would include this one?

Songs are identified with Shazam if needed. I usually use KiwiSDR receivers. Reception from my QTH is using a Hermes Lite 2 with a 40 meter band Inverted V at 40 feet.

Back in April, Manuel Mendez (Spain) posted in HCDX this item, that will be of interest,
as Rafael is actually located in Colombia:

COLOMBIA-VENEZUELA, 4940, Unknown relaying Fuerza de Paz, 0404-0625,
21-04, Spanish, religious comments, Colombian-Venezuelan songs,
"Llaneras". 25322.

About  this station, the colleague and friend José Hernández Madrid
sends me the replay that Rafael Rodríguez, QSL manager of La Voz de tu
Conciencia sent to a listener, Adolfo Arto, who sent him a reception
report about the station on 4940 kHz, and that he posts on Facebook
(Google translation):

"1. The Signal on 4940 KHz is not operated by the Colombia Para Cristo
Organization or its Fuerza de Paz Campaign, which in previous years
operated on 5910 and 6010 Khz from Colombia and of which I am the QSL
Manager.

2. Although the 4940 khz signal retransmits old programs from those
stations and for this reason Fuerza de Paz is mentioned, these programs
are taken from public web servers where these programs have been hosted
for several years.

3. The 4940 Khz signal has never been identified in any way, it presents
Colombian-Venezuelan music, they give the UTC -4 time (Venezuela time)
and in my opinion it transmits from that country or very close to the
border between Venezuela and Colombia .

4. I ask you to be attentive because it is working on the reactivation
of the 6010 Khz signal and that I trust you can listen and report to my
email: rafaelcoldx@yahoo.com, where I will be sending you the eQSL and
other souvenirs."
