I was listening earlier this afternoon to what I presume were the last ten minutes of Voice Of Greece. They signed off around 1703 hrs UTC playing their interval signal, then China National Radio was heard in its place. I will check the following day to see if VOG has definitely ended.

Songs are identified with Shazam if needed. I usually use KiwiSDR receivers. Reception from my QTH is using a Hermes Lite 2 with a 40 meter band Inverted V at 40 feet.

Thanks for the link. I think this could be related to the recent events with Iran seizing two Greek oil tankers. I was also told that towards the end of the broadcast I recorded on Youtube, that the presenter was paying tribute to the sailors.

They want some extra time to make fun of the Turks for changing the spelling of Turkey back to Turkiye because people kept getting the place mixed up with the bird. (Sadly, I'm not kidding about the reason for the spelling change.)

Anymore news about this? I cannot see anything to say if they will continue beyond the 15th of June. That said, the situation regarding the Greek oil tankers seized by Iran is still ongoing, even though Greece released an Iranian oil tanker a few days ago. Maybe an excuse to still continue on shortwave for the time being.

There's been an recent flare up between Türkiye  and Greece over islands in the Aegean Sea. Maybe this will be cause for another extension of the Voice of Greece.

I can’t find anything about what is happening now either. S9 signal with Greek music at Zakynthos Greece KiwiSDR. Some interference from CNR on the same frequency.

17:10Z 15 JUNE 2022 - 9420.0 kHz AM (via University of Twente Wide-band WebSDR); Classical music followed by female voice. Some interference from 9410.0 kHz (China Radio Int (CHN)) and 9425.0 kHz (KRE Voice of Korea). Reduced bandwidth to +/-5 kHz to overcome.

17:57Z - 9410 kHz has now faded considerably allowing for wider audio bandwidth on 9420 kHz. This may be China National Radio 13 (CHN) and not Voice of Greece. I tried to confirm Voice of Greece via an Internet live stream but was not able to connect to the service.

18:05Z - End of broadcast. Carrier dropped.

Thank you everyone for the information. I will be checking tomorrow if Voice Of Greece is still continuing on shortwave. I wanted to record what I presumed was their final sign off but was unable to. I was listening earlier in the day & reception was not as good as other days although very audible. Maybe this was because of conditions unless Voice Of Greece reduced their power output.
Indoor setup: Elad FDM-S2 & MLA-30 antenna. One stock & another modified.

I checked today on Utwente SDR & there is no sign of Voice Of Greece. China National Radio can be heard instead, so maybe Voice Of Greece has pulled the plug but I will be checking over the next week if they have decided to come back on air.

One of my all time favorites.  Beautiful language, lovely music.  I hope it's not so. Will be greatly missed.  Memory eternal.
