KOREA SOUTH. 5920, Voice of Freedom (Jayu-e soli Bangsong). Free from any N. Korea jamming on Dec 1
(ex: 6045 heard with super white noise jamming and also rapid pulsating noise jamming, but no VOF there!).

The VOF open carrier heard at least an hour before the start of their Korean programming.

*0753 UT: Intro music; distinctive gong rung three times; Voice of Freedom ID; Republic of Korea choral National Anthem;
enjoyable singing station jingle ("jinsil-e soli, huimang-e soli, jayu-e soli bangsong!" - Voice of Truth, Voice of Hope, Voice
of Freedom broadcast!); 0500 PM KST announcement/time pips; 0800 UT, program "Hamkke tteonaneun eum-ag-yeohaeng"
(Let's go music together). My eleven minute audio - https://app.box.com/s/d9eiioxzxbcwlbc76onhdscztat4qz1v .

0900: A single tone; "Jayu-e solibangsong-eseo ohu 6 (yeoseos) sileul allyeodeulibnida" (In English - Voice of Freedom has
announced 6pm); station jingle - "jinsil-e soli, huimang-e soli, jayu-e soli bangsong!" (Voice of Truth, Voice of Hope, Voice of
Freedom broadcast!); then the "Bodo gwangjang" (News Plaza) segment, with an item about "Australia."
My three minute audio - https://app.box.com/s/uu7gyvesd67tyt1mrojwdomoehxwimfw .

0910: Segment "Nalssi Jeonmangdae" (Weather Observatory).
My three minute audio - https://app.box.com/s/g057kupalg5bhy3q2w7z4yhgue8ty0xb .

0915: Program "Ma-eum-e swimpyo" (Resting heart).
My five minute audio - https://app.box.com/s/c3trvjnopz2a9ekk5wzgm1vkc4ff6hhz .

0920: Program “Kkumkkuneun cheongchungeug“ (Dreaming youth drama).
My seven minute audio - https://app.box.com/s/nvhtqnurmh2974z8z4qmntqvw7nvy40t .

Your Audio 1 - Good strength reception of positive CNR1, with a "CCTV" program (ID 09:40)
Your Audio 2 - Your clip starts at 1200 UT with the Voice of Indonesia theme music; into Japanese with VOI ID.

Nov 26, I was listening at 1125 UT to 4749.95 kHz. and heard definite VOI ID, while mixing with stronger
CNR1 (4750.0); the off-set frequencies produce a light het.

Many years ago, Ozy Radio, was indeed on 4835 kHz., but Craig Allen, the owner and operator of the station, has been
dead for many years now; died March 28, 2019. With his demise, his station went silent.

Currently "Shortwave Australia" is on 4835 & 2310 kHz. I have also had the pleasure of hearing this low powered station
and received the following reply from Dave Stuart, operator of "Shortwave Australia":

"Thanks for the report. When the ABC ran the station they had 50kw and I run 200w so no wonder you find it hard to hear.
It covers the south eastern part of Australia ok. Apart from any live input  I run an identification announcement every 10
mins [which I never was able to hear - Ron] that should override the program material, At the moment the indents are
computer generated and of female voices from the Windows 10 read aloud library, I have them reading in various English
accents to make it more interesting so if you record more than 10 mins you should get one. I was in Hawaii in 2016 and
heard the ABC on 4835 booming in and 2310 was ok as well. I have seen a trace of my signals on US sdr's but too weak
to hear. What would be the best time for you to listen, last night I went off about 1am our time [1500 UT - Ron]. For the
last hour or so was playing a dream time program with relaxing electronic music and did make an announcement when
I closed. The content of the automatic announcements at the moment is: "This is Shortwave Australia broadcasting to
the inland and the islands on 4835 kilocycles day time and evening as well as  2310 kilocycles night time" or words to
that effect. Let me know of any more results."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V-0uag9qdhs contains a great video from "Shortwave Australia."

FYI

- - - posted to WOR iog Nov 14:

China (Xinjiang): XPBS is now audible on their usual "Winter" frequencies like 4500 kHz (Mongolian), 4980 kHz (Uyghur)
and 5060 kHz (Chinese). When I "hunted" them to have them included in the Logbook of Radio-Kurier they were not there
(deadline 9 November). In 2022 the change occurred on 8 November. (Dr Hansjoerg Biener)

Greetings from San Francisco! Thanks for the alert of the Xinjiang PBS winter changes. I am presently in the city while not DXing, so
have not heard the latest changes myself, but here is my posting from last year (2022), which I imagine might be the same in 2023?

** EAST TURKISTAN. Xinjiang PBS reported by Dr Hj Biener to have resumed its lower 60ish mb winter frequencies,
so I make my annual check of them shortly after sign-on circa local sunrise when it`s grayline to me circa local sunset,
Nov 14 at 0040 UT:

5060, JBA Chinese, a bit stronger of course than the rest:
4980, JBA algo, Uyghur service
4850, JBA algo, Kazakh service
4500, JBA carrier, Mongolian service, vs CODAR
With nothing further identifiable, this quartet make it obvious whence.

*Last* year, Ron Howard got the schedule from Hiroshi, sign-on times:
5060, 2330- 4980, 2300- 4850, 2315- 4500, 2315-
Current Aoki:
5060, 2310- 4980, 2315- 4850, 2315- 4500, 2315-
EiBi has nothing anywhere on all four frequencies. Anyway, all should be on by 2330. All of them have several higher
frequencies, and the lower ones again in the local evening, impossibly midday here.

Gaisma.com shows today`s Nov 15 sunrise at Urumqi, ``China``: 0103- UT. In a bimonth will be near its latest, 0141-,
i.e. 9:41 am by local clock required to be on Beijing time of UT+8 rather than when it should be, UT+6. Due to imperialist
ChiCom genocide against Uyghurs and other Moslems.

WRTH 2023 dispenses with any sked info and lists all four not at Urumqi, but ``Changji``! Is that the same as Changzhi
in gaisma.com? But that`s way off in east China near Beijing (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

Sorry, but the reception you heard was definitely Mexico (R. Educacion), as the signal strength would have to be Mexico
and the program format leaves no doubt it was them. Here on the West Coast, I am able to hear both R. Educacion and
CHBC closing down at about 1200* UT, with Mexico always the stronger.

37
Yes, definitely is Tibet (PBS Xizang), with the 1600-1700 UT "Holy Tibet" program in English, but I have never
seen it reported on 3200 kHz. before. Thanks for the fine recording. This winter's DX season I will be able to hear the "Holy
Tibet" programs on 4905 // 4920 // 6025 // 6110 // 6130 // 6200 (best reception here!) // 7255 kHz.

Yes, definitely Myanmar Radio that you heard!! Noted Nov 4, on 5985 kHz., at 1124 UT, turned on xmtr; a minute later
started Myanmar programming; from 1130 to 1157 UT, blocked by strong CRI (China).

Here is one of my recent logs, with audio:

MYANMAR. 5985, Myanmar Radio, 1402+ UT, Oct 30. Just before my local sunrise (1428 UT); heard with unusually good
reception; program with chatting on the phone, with the caller breaking into song (no music), plus music/singing. My audio

6045 kHz. - Definitely the clandestine station (Voice of Freedom), in Korean, broadcasting to N. Korea. You heard
"Hanla-eseo Baegdukkaji" (From Halla to Baekdu) program (1330-1400 UT).

Also on frequency is always the super white noise jamming from N. Korea, to block VOF. Some of the time also heard
with NK pulsating noise jamming in addition to super jamming.

42
Yes, definitely Voice of the People (clandestine: 3480 // 3910 // 3930 // 4450 // 4560 // 6520 // 6600 kHz.). Thanks for the nice recordings!

INDONESIA. 7289.93, RRI Nabire Pro 1, 0757-0825 UT, Oct 27. Interesting anomaly; preempted all regular programming;
coverage of the recent event at the Bumi Wonorejo Nabire soccer field; impassioned speeches and musical performances
for the first anniversary celebration of HKJM (Madurese Javanese Harmony Association [Himpunan Kerukunan Jawa
Madura]); Madurese are an ethnic group originally from the island of Madura, but now found in many parts of Indonesia;
very nice YouTube coverage of the event - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s9BoFh11hd8 .

This may be of help to everyone?

"For me, it has always been fun trying to tie down if a station heard is really a Sound of Hope reception or just the CNR-1 program jamming.
Here are a few suggestions, based on my years of observations:

1) One positive way is to listen at the top-of-the-hour. CNR-1 programming always has time pips, while SOH never has any.

2) Find a known CNR-1 frequency, that is to say a non-jamming frequency (I use 6125 kHz.), then check to find if it is // to
the station in question.

3) SOH is a religious station, so has a more refined format. At ToH usually has news and then a lot of monologues. Rather
rare to hear music. While the CNR-1 format is fairly contemporary; many short segments; often with music; in general has
a much more upbeat format than SOH.

4) After many years of listening to SOH, I find their audio slightly muffled; not a lot, just enough to be noticeable, especially
when compared to the crisp audio of CNR-1.

5) It is not uncommon for SOH to be slightly off-frequency; while CNR-1 is on the exact frequency (xx.00).

6) Finally, if the station in question has fair to good reception, it almost certainly is CNR-1 jamming. SOH stations use rather
low power, hence fair-good reception would be extremely rare.

7) If you are fortunate enough to actually hear SOH, their top-of-the-hour ID is "Xiwang zhi sheng guoji guangbo diantai"
(Sound of Hope international broadcast station), given twice (once by OM and once by YL), then into the news."
