General Radio Discussion / UTE Databases and Looking Up Info on Freqs
« on: February 29, 2024, 1426 UTC »
I've been migrating away from listening to pirates and aviation traffic and started looking for the UTE oddities out there in the aether. I heard some curious signals last night and googled every way I could think of to find info on what I was hearing with no luck. So, what is the best way to search for and identify these transmissions?

I did go to the UDXF page but found it all a bit confusing. The info I was looking was probably there but I had no idea how to find it.

Thanks in advance.

Equipment / Recommendations for a Hiking Antenna
« on: February 21, 2023, 1223 UTC »
Hi, All. I'm looking for recommendations for an antenna to take with me when I go hiking. My plan is to bring a portable receiver and set up an antenna. I can power the antenna from a power pack. Something that could be mounted on a tripod would be perfect. Even if I have to use U bolts. I have one tripod that I removed the head from.

Thanks in advance.

Amateur Radio / Common SSTV Freqs?
« on: November 15, 2022, 1026 UTC »
Anyone know of the common SSTV freqs these days? I googled it and I've been tuning around to those freqs for a couple weeks now and I have not found anything. I thought maybe the gentleman's freq agreements have changed since those lists were posted to the interwebz.

Thanks.
