Mostly S3 with heavy fading, but up to S6 at one point with this:
0037 utc: U2 Song and talk with ID just before the U2 song (heard announcer mention "Hocus Pocus" and what sounded like a Channel Z ID)
0043 utc: Signal completely gone, or signed off?

Zeppelin Radio Worldwide was the first pirate that I heard on shortwave back in 1987. This reception also led to my first QSL card - shown below. Others heard in '87 were the Voice of Free Long Island, KBFA "Broadcasters of Free America", Radio Clandestine, Voice of Laryngitis, etc. I was instantly hooked! I started recording just about everything I heard on cassette tape. I've slowly been digitizing these tapes to MP3. As for medium wave, my first(s) were both WJDI and WKND who did alternating broadcasts on 1620 KHz one night back in 1989.

I didn't catch the earlier broadcast but found WPON coming on the air at 0100 UTC, usb mode (no carrier). Killer S9 signal here with good audio.

S4-S6 with heavy static tonight, tough to make this one out:
0134 UTC: Sounded like a parody ad for this "Lassie" commercial or PSA I often hear on the AM dial, though I can't place the ad right now.
0137 UTC: Mellow sounding OM ID and talk, but audio is too low to make much of this out. Sounds like two OMs bantering back and fourth.
0143 UTC: "Souvenirs" by Voyage
